Gianluca Naso 362nd - Thomas Muster 6-0 6-3

this is when there is fairness

AHM - Muster 6-1 6-1 this is reality with two games out of respect

what happened is a disgrace
I wouldn`t call it a disgrace.AHM retired from qualies cause of injury and got the spot as lucky looser. So clearly he wasn`t 100% but it was obvious who will win the match

I was expecting 6-1 or 6-2 in 2nd set also but AHM got clearily very nervous of possible humiliation in the end missing all important 1st serves and he was so shaky he could just loop the ball back in the middle of the court. Anyway good fight from Muster in 2nd after pathetic start.

This AHM guy managed to take Soderling to 5 sets at the USO??! :spit:

Great stuff from Muster, his forehand was excellent, and he wasn´t afraid to go for his shots. Saved a lot of break points with gutsy play. And that smash-smash-drop shot-lob volley combination in the second set was very nice to watch. Great stuff, considering the man is 43.

On the downside, his backhand was pretty weak, and he ended overhitting it quite a bit. He´s also obviously quite slow, and not capable of covering the court, especially since he likes to run around to his forehand a lot.

Yeap....Veritable Master and devoted to this game Demiurge is demonstrating absolutely remarkable and distinguishing strength and commanding personality! At the age of 43!!! he is accomplishing elusive comeback to the professional tennis - game he has achieved everything in and proved everything many decades ago! He is showing outstanding agility and fabulous quality of his game bearing in mind all the astonishing circumstances, he even capable to perform on equal terms with (at least for a short period of time) current ATP contender twice younger and in good form, who has raised his game significantly this year and capable to turn into steady top100 player. And instead of showing some immense respect to this significant colossal Man, instead of enjoing his devotion and passion MTF deviant miserable pathetic pleibeans stating some disgusting crap about AHMs lack of affort or concentration.....disgusting.

Thank you Thomas for just being out there.

The heat got to Soderling in that match. His record at the Australian Open is horrible because of the heat there.
that's an acceptable excuse?

not for professional athletes

God, he's old

Those who claim the 'game has moved on' from the 90s :haha:
in most respects i agree with your sentiment... muster would actually have a better shot at having epic full year now the fast courts he ran into are gone... and thats the truth... imagine the hard court titles he could have added now in that mad clay year he had... slow hard everywhere... its a joke...

Great job putting forth a great effort, Thomas :) You definitely showed a better tennis level than most could have imagined. Very happy for him, disappointed he didn't take the tiebreak, though.

Looks like Muster defeated the loser-doubters on MTF. Pretty obvious now that he's going to get his wins on this tour over the next couple of years. And this is a guy only just beginning his comeback, lots of stages still to come of the return. He's playing 20-25 events next year he says. The way he played in that 2nd set is of a tour regular. Muster defeats the loser-doubters HEA-VILY :yeah:

"The way he played in that 2nd set is of a tour regular."

But I doubt he could sustain this level with any top 100 players for a full match, not to say a week tournament.
As in shape as you may be at 43, maintaining the speed and the reflexes for hours and win is impossible against the youth, it is not golf.

But he's only just begun his comeback, so his fitness isn't close to what it will be in a year. And he's already capable of winning sets. That's an extremely good sign for him.
